Mocha Mousse, the Color of the Year in Interior Design

Neutral and warm tones continue to dominate the interior design scene, standing strong as a timeless and elegant choice for any project. Within this trend, Mocha Mousse has emerged as the star color of 2025. Chosen by leading firms and professionals in the field, this sophisticated and immersive hue has made its mark both on fashion runways and in thoughtfully curated living spaces.

Mocha Mousse is no ordinary brown. It’s a rich, serene shade with soft undertones that evoke stability, calm, and sophistication. Its versatility makes it the perfect ally for a wide range of styles—from classic settings seeking a timeless aesthetic, to contemporary spaces that emphasize the organic, the tactile, and the sensory.

Suite 16: Timeless Glamour and Immersive Elegance

Suite 16 by Pepe Leal for Eichholtz was one of the strongest expressions of this trend. Inspired by the splendor of 1940s Hollywood, the Spanish designer transported visitors into a scene of classic luxury, reimagined with a modern lens.

Velvet armchairs, long-pile rugs, heavy drapery, and metallic accessories in a copper-gold finish blended harmoniously with mocha-colored walls and upholstery. The result: a warm, sophisticated space full of character.

Alma de Sierra: Nature and Elegance in Balance

Another interpretation of Mocha Mousse came from Disak Studio with their concept Alma de Sierra, created in collaboration with Natuzzi Italia. This space paid tribute to the Mediterranean landscape and the soul of nature, where earthy tones, natural materials, and artisanal sensibility merged into a compelling visual narrative.

Here, Mocha Mousse served as a unifying thread, connecting natural wood, carved stone, and textured fabrics. The color wasn’t just an aesthetic choice—it acted as a bridge between the rustic and the refined, a tone that evoked the warmth of the earth and the noble essence of Italian design. This palette allowed each element—sofas, tables, lighting—to communicate in harmony without competing for attention.

Materia Viva: A Kitchen with Soul and Design

Last but not least, Materia Viva by Cocinas Río, also designed by Disak Studio, offered a renewed vision of contemporary kitchen design, with Mocha Mousse taking center stage in the color story.

Far from the cold, sterile tones often associated with high-end kitchens, this proposal embraced warmth, emotion, and sensory richness. Mocha Mousse softened the clean lines, creating a cozy atmosphere without sacrificing sophistication. The use of warm lighting and natural elements further reinforced the idea that the kitchen is, more than ever, the heart of the home.
