DIALECTICAL LANDSCAPE
Dionisio González
The Dialectical Landscape series, in black and white, aims for a radical ideation of the urban landscape. It is, in turn, a tribute to Smithson who was passionate about orthophotographs and aerial views from where to contemplate the earthworks and the transformation of the territory, as can see Dialectical Landscape I, II, III, IV, V, VI and VII (2017).
Dionisio González (Gijón, 1965), a multidisciplinary artist based in Seville, reinvents the landscape, the spaces and their social drifts. Concerned about contemporary ways of living, relationships of man with nature and social shipwreck creates reactive and purposeful works. Inventions that allow us to imagine new realities, in which chaos and beauty coexist, together with a strong conceptual and theoretical load that articulates the possibilities of creating a better and more habitable. In his works, Dionisio González proposes solutions of how they should have been, or how should be from their thoughts, from their truth, these constructions, buildings, homes and houses. From his first installations he showed his concern for spaces and light, but It soon evolved into the use of photography as a means of delving deeper into that spatial conception. and architecture itself as a central concern.
